drawing heavily upon the work of robert adams and the 1970s "new topographic" photography movement, post-topographics is my attempt to explore human-altered landscapes that have been vacated, and are in the process of being returned to the earth. honoring the spirit of the original exhibition, this collection will be devoid of human presence and be shot primarily in black-and-white.
i tried to keep in mind a phrase from a novel by [yasunari] kawabata: “my life, a fragment of a landscape.” the same applied, i thought, to each of us...
